I recently watched the film Gladiator 2, and I found it quite enjoyable. I particularly liked the special effects and was impressed by the number of extras used for the gladiator scenes in the Coliseum. Although I'm not usually a fan of fight scenes, I couldn't help but admire the fight choreography. Fun fact: all fight scenes are scripted!
I just finished working on a short film myself, and tonight I added the credits. If you check the credits for Gladiator 2, you’ll see that the film crew consisted of over 1,000 people, while there were more than 2,000 extras, along with an additional 33,000 computer-generated characters to fill out the arena. In contrast, my short film had six crew members, 24 extras, and five actors with speaking lines.
Gladiator 2 had a budget of over $103 million, while our total cost to date is just $365. That’s quite a difference!
However, what isn’t different is the passion and dedication that goes into any film project. The commitment to good acting remains the same, as does the way a film takes over your life during the production process.
