Reserve your altar/ofrenda space in the Hanford Civic Auditorium. There is a limited amount of space available. You will be asked to title your altar. For example, if the altar is for a loved one, it will be called that "In memory of Jaime Gonzalez" or "Familia Rodriguez" for example. You should decorate with everything that person enjoyed, plus food they may have liked. You can put real food, or fake food, or pictures of food. You can decorate with fresh or plastic flowers. If your loved on liked cars, put toy cars on it. You can do what you wish to make your altar a personal gesture of your love for this person. We cannot use real candles, but you can use flameless candles, or little lights that can look like candles in a candle holder. Your donation of $10 is for this space.
We will crown a King and Queen for the day of the dead at the civic center. Prior to the crowing, there will be a fashion show. Selection of the king and queen will be the selling of endorsments. Sign up, and we will issue you endorsement tickets to sell. We will announce the winner that night.
If you are skilled in face painting, Day of the Dead crafts, Day of the Dead artwork, we invite you to sell. There is a Vendor Space fee of $30, but any and all profits you make are completely yours.
